Solar PV, in simple terms, is generating your own electricity by having Solar Photovoltaic Panels on your roof. The Solar Panels are made from photovoltaic cells. When daylight hits the photovoltaic cells, electricity is produced. The electricity is converted to AC through an inverter. This can then be used safely around your home. Any extra electricity produced can be fed by to the electric grid or you can have batteries installed. The batteries can store the excess electricity which can be used at a later time.
